Thanks to all those that came out and joined us at the Annual Tree Lighting. The weather was mild and the childrens choir from Kennedy and Coosa Valley was wonderful. Santa made a visit to see what the children wanted for Christmas and had a few early gifts to give out. The grilled hotdogs, chips, cider, and Christmas cookies warmed us up. The Christmas lights are up on Depot Street and everything looks so festive. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

Riverside Tree Lighting December 4, 2015

Santa came to see us as

we celebrated in Riverside 

at our Annual Tree Lighting.

RBO provided new lights for the tree.

Mrs. Krista Lawley provided beautiful music.

It was a chilly night in December, but singing carols and hot chocolate warmed things up.

 

There was plenty of food for all!

After dinner, the kids headed to the craft table to make holiday keepsakes to take home.

Santa listened to several wishes and had surprises for our younger visitors.

It was a "Merry" way to start the "Christmas" season!

Soup Supper is A Success Once Again!

 

 Thanks to all those that came out and supported the Annual Soup Supper on February 10, 2015.

It is successful only due to the generosity of our wonderful community. We had great food, lots of fun, good fellowship, and prizes, too!

Our Winter Visitors

The American White Pelicans have been with us for a while this winter.  














They are wonderful to watch when they take off from the water.  They will circle overhead until all of them are in the air and then they will fly away.  











At feeding time, they churn up the water.  It sounds like waves crashing.  They are really large, beautiful birds.

It is a sight that I look forward to each winter.  I hope you got to see them while they were visiting.

Snow in Riverside?

Living in Alabama, we seldom see snow.  When it happens, we are mesmerized and take such joy in the beauty of nature.  We stay home, if possible, and just enjoy the scenes around us.  We take a lot of pictures because we know it will be gone very soon.
